Care And Feeding Of Your Vibrator

Keeping It Lubed

Always use a lubricant with your sex toy, even if you're slippery all on your own, like Fanny. Lubricants help the toys work to their full capacity in pleasuring you, and they also make them safer to use. Rub liberally on yourself and your toy - remember all's well that ends wet!

The best rule of thumb is that a water-based lubricant, like Astroglide, can be used with any sex toy. The exception is waterproof toys, which require silicone lubricant, like Lube hardcore silicone. Though this sounds counter-intuitive, never use
your silicone lubricant with a silicone toy - it would scratch it
- and never use your water-based lubricant in the water - it will slide off! Never use a petroleum-based lubricant with any toy except a non-latex anal toy; petroleum degrades latex and can also irritate the vagina.

Keeping It Clean

Okay, you roll over and let out a sigh of perfect satisfaction. And then you have to get up and clean your vibrator?!! Well, yes, you do, if you want it to last. How you clean it depends on the material, and many toys have specific instructions, but in brief:
· Silicone: toy cleaner or just plain old soap and water.
· Jelly: toy cleaner and warm water.
· Elastomer: soap and water.
· Cyberskin and Realistic Materials: warm water and toy cleaner.
· Acrylic, Glass or Plastics: Basic rubbing alcohol or washcloth and anti-bacterial toy cleaner.
As strange as it might sound, the simplest way to keep your vibrator clean is to use a condom on it (since your vibrator isn't real skin anyway, it doesn't spoil the fun). And condom use is mandatory if you're sharing your vibrator during a session or switching between orifices without cleaning in between. Toys should be kept in a cool, dry place, which means not on or under your pillow, even if, like me, you love your favorites so much you want to cuddle with them afterwards! Moisture and heat can cause many vibrator materials to degrade more quickly.

Vibrator Tips

The truth is that most battery-operated vibrators don't have very long lives, even in years. Their complex motors are made of many small parts that easily burn out. In all fairness, imagine your fanciest TV remote subjected to the wham-bam you expect from your sex toy; just one day of that action and your TV would be stuck on Fox-5 forever! It's possible that your vibrator may overheat and burn out (this won't hurt you, but could kill your toy) if you use it on high speed for more than twenty minutes or thirty minutes at a lower speed; so if you know you like a long session, that's a perfect reason to own more than one vibrator. Dual-action vibrators can burn out more quickly. Three months is a fair and realistic expectation with average use and good care, but frankly, the more expensive it is, the longer it will probably last. Some vibrators can last for years, longer than many relationships.
Of course you should use the freshest batteries you've got, and you might have to jiggle them around a bit to make sure they meet the contacts perfectly; rubbing the contact wires with an eraser can also help. Unlike most other battery-operated devices, with your vibrator it's important to always remove the batteries after each use. The removal keeps the contacts and battery compartment clean, reduces the risk of battery leakage, and increases the life of the batteries. Always keep extra batteries on hand so you won't be disappointed.

Now Go Have Fun!!!
You deserve it; you've done your homework. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain: Pick the vibrator for you and have an orgasm - or three!
