OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a Maid of sorts and clean for a living. I once worked at a 5 star Hotel and when it came time to put on a new roll, it was drilled in to me that it is over, never under as we had to make the end of a fresh roll look pretty. You can not do that if it is under my friend..lol. I am one that will fix other peoples rolls in their bathroom if they have it Under instead of Over..Love it Hun..xoxo

It is much easier to just roll your hand over the top instead of having to fish it out from the bottom. Maybe that is where the term " Ass Backwards" came from.

Over! If it's under and there is too much moisture in the room and the wall gets damp, then the paper ends up wet! Yuck!

You are trying to referee cats? How is that going? I am an over person but understand that with some playful pets that can result in a big pile of paper on the floor. Under... The litter box for the cat is directly beneath the roll. If you go...Over... it is a potential toy. Under.... keeps the hanging bits next to the cabinetry, out of sight out of mind, & paws off🐾🙀 Court of AFF Opinion

Most peeps I know of (who also own mischievous felines) will claim that placing the paper roll over is less encouraging and discourages them from shredding it. Of course, any cat owner will also attest the fact that some cats are more intelligent than others, and that they have figured out that it can be shredded no matter how the roll is placed! soooo... i'm usually an over. but i'm buying jumbo rolls and they don't fit in the spool for this 1950s cottage with vintage non-glazed tile. so i put the roll on the sink edge. when the roll gets small, Sherman moves it to the window sill. the rolls don't get wet on the sink edge... far enough from the faucet. it's just the two of us in here.

Over. I saw some comments about it rolling out too much and not being able to control the amount you use or the roll coming out of the dispenser... First, most people have 2 hands right? Couldn't you use your second hand to control the speed of which your roll rolls out the tp? Second, If you do roll too much out, one would think you can take the necessary amount of tp and when your finished just roll whats left back onto the roll right? And Third, How hard are y'all pulling on it if you can manage pulling it off the dispenser before you rip the paper!? You either got some hefty tp or you need too look at a new dispenser! P.S Before anyone gets upset I just want to point out Im only poking fun at some of the comments Ive read and I don't mean to single anyone out or offend anyone. Just a few sarcastic solutions to some first world problems I didn't realize existed till now

I voted over mostly because that's how I always remember it being. But honestly, as long as there is paper, no matter which way it comes off the roll I'm happy. Especially these days since it's in such short supply.
